PART 2: PREPARING FOR FOALING Because every mare should have an attendant during foaling to ensure the safety of the mare and foal, and because one of the greatest joys of being a broodmare owner is witnessing the delivery, predicting foaling is a necessary skill. Most mares foal normally, but if a problem does occur, the potential for tragedy is very real.
