PART 2: PREPARING FOR FOALING

Because every mare should have an attendant during foaling to ensure the safety of the mare and foal, and because one of the greatest joys of being a broodmare owner is witnessing the delivery, predicting foaling is a necessary skill.

Most mares foal normally, but if a problem does occur, the potential for tragedy is very real. The Nature of Foaling allows you to watch a mare’s progress and behavior prior to and during foaling, as well as the interactions between the mare and newborn foal, better enabling you to recognize your mare’s changes as foaling approaches.
